L.A. Phil Announce Dudamel's Final 2025/26 Season

Attended a posh press luncheon at the Disney Hall today. Here is the new 2025/26 season in a nutshell:
The 2025/26 season will be Gustavo Dudamel’s last in L.A. When asked by the press, he hinted at a possible return to conduct at the Bowl. He is also interested in performing the complete Mahler Tenth (ed. Deryck Cooke) with the L.A. Phil someday.
New season opens 9/25 with Richard Strauss’ An Alpine Symphony and a massive new work for orchestra and chorus by Ellen Reid.
Programming highlights include new Pan-American works, Mahler’s Second Symphony “Resurrection”, Wagner’s Die Walküre (over 3 evenings), Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis (Dudamels first outing), Yuja Wang, Andras Schiff, Beatrice Rana, Yo-Yo Ma, Joshua Bell, Itzhak Perlman & Rohan De Silva, Mehta conducting Bruckner Eight, Korean pianists Yunchan Lim (1 recital, 1 concerto), Sunwook Kim and Seong-Jin Cho, Elim Chan conducting Mahler Fourth, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, Manfred Honeck conducting Tchaikovsky Fifth, Messiaen’s Turangalila.
L.A. Phil musicians will also take the spotlight as soloists in various concertos.
Season ends with two concerts on 6/4, 6/5, celebrating the musicians of L.A. Phil.
4 new Dudamel Conducting Fellows were announced; they are from Poland, Colombia, Venezuela, Portugal.
